1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using polished.cv (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service Description

polished.cv provides AI-powered career services including:

  • Resume analysis and scoring against ATS (Applicant Tracking System) criteria.
  • Job description matching and gap analysis.
  • AI-powered resume and document rewriting.
  • Statement of Purpose and admissions document analysis.
  • Team and bulk candidate ranking tools.
  • Resume builder with template-based PDF export.

Our AI provides suggestions and recommendations. It is not a substitute for professional career counseling, and results may vary.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Free and Paid Plans

4.1 Free tier

Our free tier provides limited resume analysis with basic scoring and feedback. Free tier features may change at any time.

4.2 Paid plans

  • Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a monthly, annual, or one-time basis.
  • Prices are listed on our pricing page and may be updated with notice.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Stripe billing portal.

4.3 Founding member pricing

Promotional “Founder” pricing is locked in for the duration of your subscription. If you cancel and re-subscribe, the standard price may apply.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you are not satisfied with the Service within 30 days of purchase, contact us at [email protected] for a full refund. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

After 30 days, refunds are granted at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your content

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Service (resumes, documents, job descriptions). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

6.2 Our content

The Service, including its design, code, AI models, branding, and documentation, is owned by polished.cv and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

6.3 AI-generated output

You own the AI-generated rewrites and suggestions produced by the Service based on your content. You are free to use, modify, and distribute them.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Submit fraudulent, misleading, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to other users.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service without permission.
  • Resell access to the Service without a written agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

polished.cv provides AI-generated suggestions and analysis. We are not liable for:

  • Hiring, admission, or visa outcomes resulting from use of the Service.
  • Inaccuracies in AI-generated analysis or rewrites.
  • Loss of data due to technical failures (though we take extensive precautions).
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days unless legally required to retain it.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, followed by binding arbitration if necessary.
